Christmas market in Bad Kreuznach: your apartment for Advent
During Advent the stalls of the Nikolausmarkt stand in Bad Kreuznach's old town, and at weekends the spa park in Bad Münster am Stein holds its Christmas market. If you travel for it or visit family over the holidays, you stay with us in an apartment of your own, with a kitchen.
The Nikolausmarkt in the old town
From late November until shortly before Christmas, the market fills the streets around St. Nicholas' Church, on the Eiermarkt square and in Poststraße. The stalls sell food, drinks and gifts, and there is a large nativity scene and Christmas music. A puppet theatre plays fairy tales in its tent almost every day, a children's carousel turns next to it, and on St. Nicholas' Day Saint Nicholas himself comes by.
St. Nicholas' Church is the oldest church building in town, and during the market it holds evening meditations. The market is closed on Totensonntag, the Sunday before Advent.
Christmas market in the spa park of Bad Münster am Stein
On the Advent weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, the spa park in Bad Münster am Stein holds a Christmas market. Stalls stand in the park, in the Brunnenhalle and in the spa pavilion, with wood carvings, nativity figures and Advent wreaths, plus mulled wine and apple punch from local winemakers. A life-size nativity scene stands in the bandstand, and in the evening the trees in front of the Rheingrafenstein rock are lit up.
The tourist information office recommends coming by bus and train.

Maison Vallon is a house from 1788 in Bad Kreuznach's old town, within walking distance of the old town streets and the pedestrian zone. Each of our apartments has its own kitchen, so you can cook after the market, and if you are visiting relatives over the holidays, you have a place of your own in the evening.
If you would like to come during Advent, it is best to check the apartments' calendars early.

When is the Nikolausmarkt?
Every year from late November until shortly before Christmas, closed on Totensonntag. The dates and opening hours for each year are published on nikolausmarkt.info and by the Bad Kreuznach tourist information office.
Can I book over the holidays?
Yes, if the apartment's calendar shows those days as available. It also shows you the minimum stay as soon as you choose your dates.
How do I get to the spa park market without a car?
By train to Bad Münster am Stein, on the lines from Bingen to Kaiserslautern and from Mainz to Saarbrücken. Buses stop at Bad Münster am Stein-Mitte, close to the spa park.
